1. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (w/o DPF)

  1. Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.

    Minimum length:
    41.5 mm (1.634 in.)

    If the length is not as specified, replace the compression spring.

  1. Using a plastic hammer and a wooden block, tap in a new gasket until its surface is flush with the exhaust manifold.

    NOTICE:
    1. Install the exhaust pipe gasket in the correct direction.
    2. Do not damage the outer surface of the exhaust pipe gasket.
    3. Do not reuse the exhaust pipe gasket.
    4. Do not push in the gasket with the exhaust pipe when connecting it.

  1. Hang the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 3 No. 4 exhaust pipe supports.

  1. Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    43 N*m{ 438 kgf*cm , 32 ft.*lbf }



2. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (w/ DPF)

  1. Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.

  1. Hang the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 3 No. 4 exhaust pipe supports.

  1. Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    43 N*m{ 438 kgf*cm , 32 ft.*lbf }



3. CONNECT NO. 8 EXHAUST PIPE AIR HOSE (w/ DPF)

  1. Connect the No. 8 air hose to the tail exhaust pipe.



4. CONNECT NO. 7 EXHAUST PIPE AIR HOSE (w/ DPF)

  1. Connect the No. 7 air hose to the tail exhaust pipe.



5. INSTALL NO. 2 EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR (w/ DPF)

  1. Using a union nut wrench (14 mm), install the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor.

    Torque:
    30 N*m{ 306 kgf*cm , 22 ft.*lbf }

    NOTICE:
    Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where a union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench (Click here).

  1. Engage the harness clamp.

  1. Engage the harness clamp and connect the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connector.



6. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (w/ DPF)

  1. Install the engine under cover with the 4 bolts and 4 clips.

    Torque:
    5.0 N*m{ 51 kgf*cm , 44 in.*lbf }



7. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
